Hi, welcome to my KNIME “takbb” page.
I am passionate about the KNIME AP tool, and use it in my day-to-day work for both general querying of databases and in Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processing.
I’m a regular member of the KNIME Community Forum, where I can be found trying to assist others with their KNIME questions, and hopefully in many cases helping them to find solutions to their problems.
KNIME Analytics Platform is a free Open Source product for data manipulation and analytics, but it has also been described as “The Swiss Army Knife of data tools”. The forum has contributors who are part of the KNIME team as well as people like me who are users of the tool, and not part of KNIME.
KNIME FORUM CONTRIBUTIONS
There are a number of great contributors, who go the extra mile in their own time to help others. You can view the “KNIME Forum leaderboard” here, which shows statistics of the various forum contributors over different time frames.
My other passion with KNIME is in helping others. I have been using KNIME AP only since March 2021, but in that time I have provided (at time of writing) over 380 solutions to Forum questions. In my first year of using KNIME, on average I produced a solution every 3 days, and I was honoured to be awarded “KNIME Contributor of the Month” in October 2021
In the year from April 2023 to April 2024, on average I produced a solution every 1.5 days.
Helping others where they are stuck with a problem gives me great satisfaction.
KNIME COMPONENTS
I also create KNIME “components“, which are publicly available, and are generally born out of helping somebody with a specific problem, where I think that a packaged component might help simplify their workflow, or at least may be helpful to others (or me!) in future. Sometimes I just dream up components that I think might be useful. Who knows, maybe some of them are…
KNIME WEBINAR
In October 2023, it was my absolute pleasure to take part in a KNIME Webinar entitled “Automate Away Spreadsheet Tasks” which can also be found on the KNIMETV channel on YouTube. Maybe in the future I will do others, and possibly I may do some of my own KNIME videos on YouTube.

I give my time on the KNIME Community Forum willingly and for free.
